“After reflecting on yesterday’s session, I realized that without you I wouldn’t have been receptive to therapy or the entire process. Genuinely, as a Black man, there’s a stigma around getting help, and I hesitated because I was so focused on others' perceptions of me. I literally convinced myself that self-reflection alone would be enough, but compared to the work we’ve done, it was MINIMAL. I really thank you because without you I wouldn’t be as self-aware, as intentional in pursuing my goals, and I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable remaining stagnant. So thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts, for helping me explore my inner thoughts, and for being there through the moments when I’ve wrestled with the dichotomy between my authentic self and the identity I built from the perceptions of others. So seriously, like really, thank you for allowing me to simply be myself.”

“The process has helped me overcome obstacles that were keeping me stuck from moving forward. My world was identifying threat patterns, trying to find the 'whys' and searching for validation from outsiders. I have learned to start to ease up on all the self-blame and identify the source of my feelings. I find courage within myself to stand up for myself, face my fears, feel more self-confident, and seek less validation from the outside world. My rumination has calmed down significantly, although that can still be a challenge. I'm more focused on the behaviors, not the analysis. My anxiety is still a challenge, but I think it always will be, just to a lesser degree. Willie has really helped me find the solutions I've been searching for, for years. I'm a butterfly still stuck inside its cocoon, morphing into the next phase.”

“Therapy hasn’t made life perfect — but it has made me stronger, clearer, and more emotionally grounded. I’ve grown in ways I didn’t think were possible, and I’m incredibly grateful for the safe space, guidance, and support Willie has provided throughout my healing journey. I look forward to continuing to grow through what I go through and become even better for myself and my son along the way throughout my journey.”
